Hi mates,

Few months ago i noticed strange behaviour when bike is parked 7+ days.

Apparently when I turn ignition key nothing happens, instrument cluster is dead no activity from fuel pump as well, When do it again all is normal. BIke cranks well and start immediately after second attempt. Battery is new.

Any idea what might be a problem?

Cheers,

Vuk

Had a similar issue on my 650GS once (completely different bike I realise) and traced the issue to a fatigued and frayed wire near the iginition switch. Also may be a ground issue.

I hate electrical gremlins :/

That wiring loom is over 10 years old now.
Check it in areas where there's movement.
Mine shorted, caused a fire and needed replacing. Not cheap.

BMW had issues with the EWS Antenna Ring at the ignition switch randomly failing to pick up the chip in the Key. They will replace this if your bike has the version with known issues. Speak to your BMW Dealer, This is not a recall it is a service builtin. They replaced the Antenna on my 2006 GSA under their awesome curtsy extend customer good will program. While my HP2 Enduro is a 2006 it has only 8,790kms on the clock. Ride Safe
