But no-one seems to do them anymore. Does an oil head 1200GS part fit?

Have you tried Twin Headlight Ernie? Don't know if he is still making them. Yes, I believe the same year GS will fit.

I used a Blackdog skid plate made for the GS on my HP. Only modification necessary was the clamp blocks under the aft rear. Angle of the frame was slightly different along with larger frame tubes. Other than that, it bolted right up. Worked great but a little too massive for me offering more protection than I want.
