It is a fairing I had from an old trials bike 1985 Honda Reflex 250. I cut it to fit and just bolted it on. It works well and cost nothing.

On my other HP2 I had a Wunderlich screen and mounts that I made for it. I met a guy that gave me two screens that he had reproduced in plastic. I reinforced them with some sheet metal and it works great!

Thanks,

Totally loving this HP2 Dirt - I did three off road rallies on it and it performed flawlessly. I have to say it was a blast to do a lot of off Road miles on in the PB500 this past Fall. I am thinking about painting the panels again and found a pretty cool paint scheme.

BTW - I find that a paint job gives me a new outlook on an old bike and is a heck of a lot cheaper than a new bike!!!

Since you already painted HP2 Dirt, seems like it would be easy to paint that again. by marret

Hey Marret - that is exactly what I was thinking.

The panels are already a little scratched from off road rallye season so a quick experiment in painting would be fun.

I have a brand new set of panels and a brand new seat in the box so if I ever sell it, I can easily switch it back to stock.

Does sound like a fun project and you have the ability to revert back. I priced the panels last time we had this discussion...not cheap. by marret

Yea - I got lucky when a brand new set of panels came up and a brand new seat. Neither had been on a bike. I think I picked up the panels for $150 and the seat for $200. They are still wrapped up in bubble wrap sitting in my garage.

I have been trying to pick up extra parts for these HP2s whenever they come up and I can afford them. I figure that I can always sell them for what I got them for. Last year a nice set up painted panels and a redone seat came up for $500 and I missed them by a day. They were professionally done in the team colors and were in great condition.

Thant paint scheme looks really easy to do with the white swoop. I probably can get the HP@ stickers made somewhere.

Sounds like a great deal. I probably should do the same, makes total sense to be looking for good deals on parts. Demand may even increase over time... by marret

shakedown ride
** brakes need work
** suspension needs tuning

*** this bike puts a huge smile on smile face every time I ride it and it is challenging to keep the front tire on the ground
