No Macs for me. No Microsoft too, I'm a Linux person. But I'm not ready with choosing the right design, this one has a few minor problems. I'll fool around a bit more first before we have a final look!
For the time being I'll change it back to the 'old' look for now.
Maybe it really is cabin fever!

I'm switching back to the old theme as the new one gives me more problems than I'm willing to solve. So instead I'm gonna beef up the oldie with some new colors, some background stuff and we'll see what happens then. So if you don't like it let me know!

Let me know please, I can switch it back in a juffy tomorrow if this doesn't work for you guys. I'm gonna experiment with some lighter colors maybe, need to get used to this.
Point is that I'm designing a new intranet at work, or better we have hired a desigh company. And what I have come to realise is that the old design works but is really a 15 year old design. I'd really like the site to be both atttractive and functional too.
I need to work on the top bar too, I want a nice new and strong HP2 banner with a dirty bike or something like that.

OK, but the blue theme has bugs, this one is very solid and I can change it fairly easy. I'm gonna crash now, will work on it some more tomorrow.
This one is actually a bit like the ADV forum and I don't want it to be a copy...
And since the weather sucks I have plenty of time to work on it more.

Of the three so far, the original is still my favorite layout. I like the lighter color, and I liked the picture of the HP2 in the upper-left corner. The two more recent layouts both look a bit more generic.Or maybe I'm just in a bad mood because an hour ago I discovered oil leaking out of my HP2's final drive. Shit. Keep up the good work, by the way! I like having this forum as an alternative to the HP2 megathread over on ADV. It's a lot easier to find things over here.
Odd -- I hit enter a bunch of times in the above post, but it came out as a single paragraph. That's not the first time this has happened to me on this site. For what it's worth, I'm using Firefox 3.5.7 on Mac OS 10.6. --------
I also noticed the enter problem since a few weeks. I did a site software update and I'm sure there was a bug in there. The problem is only with the WYSIWYG text editir we have in the forum and when you post a news message. If I switch that function off the problem is gone.
There's a new software upgrade available, I'll install that tonight to see if that solves the problem.
In the mean time if you do shift+enter you have a proper line break and your text will be as it was.
About the look and feel: I'm quite determined to make some site improvements but the black and blue ones I tried are not that. They look horrible on old browser versions!
Thanks for the comment! I'll make that a bit narrower, may look big on smaller screens but on my 21" screen it seems OK.
